In 2017, the President of Condé Nast Spain, Javier Pascual del Olmo, announced that Eugenia de la Torriente will take over as Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Spain, emphasising that she is a remarkable fashion journalist.

Eugenia de la Torriente is an incredibly skilled individual, and is considered to be one of the most respected fashion voices in Spain. Before Vogue, she was Editor-in-Chief of Harper’s Bazaar España, as well as fashion editor of El Pais, and editor of El Pais Semanal. De la Torriente, who holds a degree in audiovisual communications, has also worked as a professor, regularly speaking at leading luxury and fashion conferences, while she has also published various fashion books, most notably La Εlegancia Μasculina, a complete guide on what to wear dedicated to contemporary men.

With her dedication and love for fashion, Eugenia de la Torriente has left her mark on Vogue España, a publication that continues to support the industry, new talent and designers struggling to overcome the effects of the pandemic. The cover of the magazine’s May 2020 issue is not a photograph – for the first time since its founding in 1988 – but an image edited by illustrator Ignasi Monreal, an “antidote” to the strange feeling of uncertainty we experience this period. Aiming to spread the message that social isolation has brought us closer than ever, the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue España talks about the uncertainty we live in and the importance of never stop dreaming.
