The crystal-clear, independent voice of Sarah Mower MBE stands out in the current noisy environment of global fashion. Chief critic at Voguerunway, the British journalist is also a fervent advocate of sustainability in the industry.
Over the years, Mower has played a key role in the rise of designers such as Christopher Kane, JW Anderson, Erdem and Simone Rocha, as well as Greece’s own Sophia Kokosalaki και Mary Katrantzou. In 2009, the British Fashion Council appointed Mower an Ambassador for Emerging Talent. Mower also heads the British Fashion Council’s Newgen Committee.
Mower was a student at the University of Leeds when she won a British Vogue Talent Contest. She began her career at MS London magazine, before moving to the Guardian as fashion editor. As a guest professor, she has taught at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art and Design.
